DataSense
NYU Product Management Competition, 3rd Prize
Background
In 2024, I participated in the NYU Product Management Competition, sponsored by PitchBook Data, alongside three other students. The competition followed a hackathon format, challenging us to develop a pitch based on a given prompt within 24 hours. My main responsibilities included visual design and feature ideation. Ultimately, we presented our pitch and won third prize.
The Prompt
Create a feature (or features) that can streamline the process of bulk data entry and improve the accuracy of entity matching. This tool should save users time and ensure quick access to high quality.
Our Pitch
We designed a platform called DataSense for small business owners, incorporating 4 key features, from data upload to data validation.
The platform addresses their primary pain point: the excessive time spent on data entry and cleaning detracts from time better spent on growing their business.

Feature 1: Guided bulk data upload
Benefit users from uploading multiple large databases simultaneously by drag and drop.
Feature 2: Automated data cleaning and matching
By standardizing data formats and automatically correcting common errors, our platform saves users the effort of performing these tasks manually. Additionally, it automatically matches entities such as customer records, product information, and financial data, reducing errors and ensuring data consistency.
Feature 3: User Validation
Address data errors and low-confidence matches as data is being uploaded, making the process more efficient and ensuring accuracy.
Feedback from user validation is returned to the algorithm to improve accuracy over time.
