Capybara.AI
A mobile app that helps retail investors quickly understand how financial news impacts their stock portfolio.
I led the product thinking, UX structure, and feature strategy. This project showcases my ability to turn complex financial and AI systems into human-centered, actionable tools.
The Problem
Retail investors often struggle to connect fast-moving financial news with how it affects their own stock holdings. Traditional stock apps show headlines, price charts, or generic sentiment — but they don’t answer the key user questions: “Why is my stock moving today?” “What should I pay attention to right now?”
Eventually, users feel overwhelmed by information, miss important updates, or fail to act in time.
AI-Generated News Summary + Sentiment Tag
Every news article is condensed into a bite-sized summary using NLP models. Each item is tagged with sentiment (bullish, bearish, or neutral) so users can scan headlines with immediate emotional and market context — no deep reading required.
Interactive Price Chart with Event Markers
Price movements are visualized alongside related news events. Each spike or drop in a stock’s chart is annotated with the most relevant news at that time, helping users clearly connect cause and effect.

AI-Generated Podcast
Each day, users receive a 3-minute audio briefing summarizing what happened in the market, what affected their holdings, and what to watch next. This podcast is fully AI-generated and structured to feel personal, voice-friendly, and actionable — ideal for users on the move.

Natural Language Search
Users can ask conversational questions like “Why is Tesla down today?” or “Any negative headlines about my stocks?” to get fast, contextualized answers. This feature leverages AI summarization, sentiment tags, and price-event data to turn complex queries into digestible insight — making financial search intuitive and efficient.

Portfolio Dashboard
Users can track the total value and performance of their holdings over time. The portfolio view shows a personalized price trend chart, reflecting real-time fluctuations in their total portfolio — helping users stay grounded in their overall performance, not just isolated stock moves.

💡 Design is not an emotional expression, but through rational deduction and categorization to present complex information and logic in a way that best fits the user's habits and can satisfy the user's needs.
