The Problem
After launching the MVP of Capybara.AI, we received over 200 pieces of user feedback through email, LinkedIn, and our website. From this feedback, I realized that while our product successfully helped users save time, many still struggled with making informed stock selections.
After conducting 130 surveys and 16 interviews, I identified the following user pain points:
Users struggle to identify the relationship between market news and stock price trends.
Users are unfamiliar with the key metrics needed to determine whether a stock is reliable.
Users find it difficult to compare different companies within the same industry.
Solution
Through interviews with 9 financial advisors and experienced traders, I gained insights into the key information they typically seek when making stock selections.
By integrating feedback from both users and experienced traders, I designed a solution that evaluates each company's performance using five key metrics, helping users analyze stocks more effectively and make informed investment decisions.
Design - Company Analysis
To better visualize the five dimensions for users, I chose to use a rose chart. Additionally, I included a brief sentence summarizing the company’s recent updates and key performances. As a result, users can quickly get an overview of the company at a glance.
Based on the different types of information, I chose two distinct design approaches:
News summaries with a timeline for the detailed pages on investment, innovation, and stability. I also enabled users to link the news to stock trends, making it easier for them to understand the connection between stock prices and news.
A line chart for the detailed pages on growth and sentiment.
Design - Discovery
I replaced company logos with snowflake diagrams to make it easier for users to compare the performance of different companies within the same industry, while also improving the effective use of screen space.
